Glutathione is the most vital antioxidant [1] that the body can produce itself and recycles. If the organism becomes too toxic [2], this function of the body fails. Glutathione can prevent damage to important cellular components caused by free radicals (see footnote) and heavy metals [3].
Thanks to our diet containing many unwanted substances, a polluted environment, stress, chemical drugs and an overall wrong lifestyle, the body cannot produce enough glutathione. In this case, it is necessary to help the body and supply it.
Glutathione has its specific odor due to the sulfur component. It is sulfur exactly that acts as a trap for the unwanted substances found in our body, including free radicals, poisons and heavy metals.
[1] antioxidant:a substance that limits or reduces the free radicals. Free radicals are tiny harmful particles. As they are free, they need to be tied to something. Therefore, they attack the cells, damaging them. The cells then spill into their surroundings, and since the cells also contain substances causing decomposition, it damages the surrounding cells. It is exactly how the inflammatory process begins. Free radicals can damage or deactivate essential parts of the body. Free radicals are mainly caused by improper lifestyle (poor diet, little exercise, smoking) or chemical stress from the outside (polluted air, radiation and others).
[2] Toxication: in English, it also means poisoning. Toxic means poisonous (toxicox was a poison into which arrows were dipped). Toxication of the body occurs when too many harmful substances enter the body – e.g., improper diet, use of chemicals or intake of toxic chemicals (e.g., from polluted air, etc.)
[3] heavy metals: highly toxic substances, classified as metals. Mercury, cadmium and lead are the most harmful to humans. Very difficult to be taken out from the body.
